Open Heart ↠ Rose and Hawthorn
↠ Rose ↞
Rose is a wonderful ally when heat and tension are present, helping to soothe anger, grief, and depression. Roses are considered to support a healthy heart and alleviate anxiety. They are considered to be anti-inflammatory, aphrodisiac, and antimicrobial. Roses support and cool the liver, and are a wonderful remedy for drying up excess mucus in the body.
Roses, the “queens of the garden,” are a powerful heart opening remedy, and have been used medicinally for thousands of years. Roses teach us the importance of remaining open and vulnerable, while maintaining healthy boundaries, as she does with her thorns.
↠ Hawthorn ↞

It’s calming to the nervous system and is a great tonic for anabolic stress. The berries are high in vitamin C and therefore supports the immune system. Hawthorn has also been used to help soothe acute and long term grief.
***NOTE: if you are on any medications especially blood pressure or heart medications be sure to talk to your doctor before use.***
In Celtic folklore the hawthorn tree was/is considered to be a gateway to the land of faeries and magic. It is said that if you fell asleep under a hawthorn tree then you may wake up in another time, another world. Hawthorn is thought to be the gateway and protector of the heart, because the flowers and berries both have an affinity for the heart.*
